Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Six Lookouts had multi-hit performances to lead a potent offensive attack in a 9-6 win over the Jacksonville Suns in Wednesday night action at AT&T Field.
Chattanooga came swinging right out of the gate with three runs in the first inning, highlighted by a two-run shot from Blake Smith.
Jacksonville countered with two runs on a Jake Smolinski double in the top of the second; however, the Lookouts matched and raised the Suns with four runs in the bottom portion of the second inning. Rafael Ynoa contributed with an RBI double, while J.T. Wise blasted a two-run homer to lead the rally.
Jacksonville starting pitcher Graham Taylor (7-10) continued to struggle in the third inning, which proved to be his final frame. Griff Erickson led off with a single and eventually made his way to third on a Jake Lemmerman double. With runners on the corners, Wise came through with a double to plate both runners.
Despite facing a 9-2 deficit, the Suns jumped right back into the game in sixth inning with four runs. Kyle Jensen contributed with a deep, three-run homer to straight center, and Kyle Skipworth followed with a solo shot off of Aaron Miller (6-6) to put the score at 9-6.
Despite several rally attempts, the Suns could not muster another run against the Lookouts bullpen. Steven Ames recorded the final four Jacksonville outs to pick up his 16th save of the season.
The Chattanooga Lookouts and Jacksonville Suns will continue their five-game series at 7:15 P.M., tomorrow. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
