Tucson Padres News Release

The Tucson Padres continue their support of the military locally and overseas with the next Military Appreciation Night on Sunday, August 12 at Kino Stadium. There are many planned military related displays before and during the Padres game against the Omaha Storm Chasers. Game time is 7:05 at Kino Stadium. All active duty, reserve, guard and retired military can receive four free box seats to the game courtesy of Chase Bank with a valid military ID. These tickets are available at the Padres box office or at the Davis Monthan AFB BX on Friday from 11 - 1.

The Ft. Huachuca rock band "First Time Go" is performing pre-game (6:15 - 6:45) in the grove on the first base side of the concourse. There is also going to be a model of the USS Tucson and an A-10 GAU Avenger Gatling Cannon on display. A Pave Hawk Helicopter is going to soar above the stadium right before the game at the end of the National Anthem.

Fans can try their marksmanship on the Navy Laser rifle training course and enjoy live demonstrations from the Air Force Security Forces working dogs and Para Rescue forces. The Joint Service Color Guard is presenting the colors before the game and the National Anthem is being performed by the Fort Huachuca Marching Band. Like all other Sunday home games, the Tucson Padres will be wearing camouflage jerseys for the game against the Royals Triple-A affiliate.

The Padres are also hosting the Tribute to Our Military Heroes campaign, designed to raise awareness of ALS and the National ALS Registry during Minor League Baseball games across the country. The campaign includes a variety of game day activities focused on ALS and also brings new attention to the disease by highlighting the fact that veterans are twice as likely to develop ALS as the general public. The first 500 fans will receive an ALS softee ball. The Arizona ALS Chapter has plans to set up a concourse table with flyers to explain their program.

For Tucson Padres tickets, fans can call (520) 434-1367, visit www.tucsonpadres.com or stop by the Kino Stadium box office from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.
