Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release

Another huge turnout showed up on Friday night, and those that did received giveaways courtesy of PayDay Human Resources upon entry as part of Fan Appreciation Friday. The Blue Wahoos also paid tribute to the start of the Olympics with special promotions and other Olympic themed elements of the gameday experience at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.

The Blue Wahoos snapped their three-game skid with a 7-5 win over the Huntsville Stars. Pensacola held off a late rally to hang on for an exciting finish.

The team closes out the homestand with a bang, literally! Fans will be treated to a postgame fireworks show courtesy of Budweiser. It is also Halloween in July with a pregame fan costume contest and parade, candy for kids and appropriate decorations and videoboard graphics. The winner of the costume contest will earn a gift certificate to Marsha's Menagerie in Pensacola.

Additionally, Corporal Daniel Palmer, USMC will be on-hand to throw out the game's ceremonial first pitch. Corporal Palmer will be returning home on Friday, July 27th after suffering extensive combat related injuries in Afghanistan and going through more than a year of medical rehabilitation. In Corporal Palmer's honor, Manna Food Pantry will collect jars of peanut butter at all gates. Fans will get one raffle ticket for each jar of Peanut Butter they donate. During the game, Pen Air Federal Credit Union will raffle off a $500 certificate to one lucky winner.
