Pearl, MS - The Mobile BayBears fell to the Mississippi Braves by a 7-3 final Saturday night at Trustmark Park. Mississippi added three runs in the fourth and a run in both the seventh and eighth. With a run in the eighth and ninth innings, the BayBears came within four runs, but with two on and one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Evan Frey popped out to end the game. Dan Kaczrowski scored the second run for Mobile after a leadoff single in the eighth inning, crossing the plate on a throwing error by Christian Bethancourt, after Kaczrowski stole third base. The BayBears final run came in the ninth inning when Rossmel Perez scored on a wild pitch.
Mobile starting RHP Derek Eitel was credited with the loss, allowing five runs on eight hits through six innings. Eitel allowed two runs to the Braves in the third inning and three more runs in the fourth after a three-run homer from Bethancourt. RHP Zeke Spruill earned the win, limiting the BayBears to just two runs on six hits over eight innings.
