Glenn Named Eastern League Player of the Week

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, announced today that outfielder Brad Glenn has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week, for the week ending July 8. In eight games, Glenn hit .419 (13-31), with 6 doubles, 5 home runs, 10 RBI, and 6 runs scored.

Since coming off the disabled list on June 27, the right-handed hitter has hit in 11 of his 12 games played for a .426 average (20-47), recording 7 doubles, 7 home runs, 16 RBI, and 8 runs. In that span, he has eight multi-hit games, including his first professional grand slam on July 1 at Reading and his first Double-A multi-homer game two days later.

On the season, Glenn is hitting .256 over 64 games, ranking in the top five on the team in multiple categories, including 14 home runs (2nd), 42 RBI (3rd), 15 doubles (4th), and 27 runs scored (tied for 5th). He missed three weeks in mid-June with an injury.

This is the first weekly award for Glenn at the Double-A level, as well as the first for the Fisher Cats during the 2012 season.

The Fisher Cats return home after the All-Star break on Thursday, July 19 for a four-game series against the Portland Sea Dogs (Double-A Boston Red Sox). The series will include three post-game Atlas Fireworks shows.
