Myrtle Beach Pelicans News Release
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - It's the largest, loudest and brightest fireworks extravaganza of the season at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark Tuesday, July 3rd, in honor of Independence Eve! The fireworks display follows the Pelicans 7:05 game against the Salem Red Sox.
In addition to the fireworks display, the Pelicans will also be giving out another of their 'Team Tuesday' poster giveaway series. Tuesday's poster features the Pelicans' three Carolina League all-stars, Kyle Hendricks, Cody Buckel and Randy Henry. Hendricks will be available pregame to sign the poster on the field.
After the game there will not only be fireworks, but Pelicans pitching coach Brad Holman will perform his original song, 'The Loyal Fan,' as a thanks you to all of the Pelicans fans. Holman, an accomplished amateur song writer, wrote the song amidst the pending baseball strike in 2002 and performs it annually for the fans of the teams he coaches. Last season Holman was accompanied on the field by Pelicans Jared Prince, Trevor Hurley, Chad Bell and Vinny DiFazio.
"Being America's pastime, nothing goes better with Independence Day and Independence Eve than baseball and fireworks," said Pelicans General Manager Scott Brown. "Adding Brad Holman's performance into the celebration is such a delight. His words convey so well the thanks we have to all of our fans as we approach our three millionth fan recognition later this season."
