IronBirds Home Opener Set for Wednesday at Ripken Stadium

Aberdeen, MD- The Aberdeen IronBirds will begin their 2012 home schedule this Wednesday, June 20th at Ripken Stadium against the Hudson Valley Renegades (Short-Season Class A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays). First Pitch is scheduled for 7:35 PM.
The IronBirds welcome a new staff this season as former Norfolk Tides (Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles) manager, Gary Allenson, joins the club along with Pitching coach Alan Mills and Field coach Brad Komminsk. IronBirds Left-Handed Pitcher Jorge Rivera will make his first start of the season on Wednesday night.
Country trio Due West from Black River Entertainment will perform the National Anthem. The group will also perform outside the stadium gates as fans enter the stadium and will sing God Bless America during the seventh inning stretch. Due West is currently touring throughout the United States.
During the player introductions, members from area youth baseball organizations will form a tunnel to welcome players to the field.
