LOWELL, MASS. - The Lowell Spinners, Class-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, will hold a special pre-game ceremony prior to their Tuesday, June 19 game against the Connecticut Tigers when they hold a special pre-game ceremony in conjunction with the Rolling Thunder, Massachusetts Chapter.

The Spinners will dedicate a single black chair, atop of section 104, which will remain unoccupied for eternity, in honor of the more than 92,000 American soldiers who are unaccounted for.

"We are eternally grateful for the sacrifices the men and women of our armed services have made and continue to make," said Spinners Head Groundskeeper and Air Force Reserve Senior Airman Jeff Paolino. "This chair represents the ultimate sacrifice and is the ultimate reminder that these men and women are never forgotten."

The pre-game ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a special Rolling Rally around the LeLacheur Park warning track featuring the Rolling Thunder members, with the seat and plaque unveiling beginning at 6:50 on the concourse.

Joe D'Entremont, President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Rolling Thunder, will be on hand for this special ceremony.

"Joe and the Rolling Thunder have been instrumental in this process," said Paolino. "We are honored to be the first facility in the region to bring this seat to life. The chair is sure to convey a powerful message for Spinners fans for years to come."

The chair is part of the night itself which is dedicated to the POW/MIA. It is small part of the overall Military Appreciation theme that is part of the Spinners 2012 season. In addition to tonight's ceremony, the Spinners, in conjunction with Hanscom Federal Credit Union, are honoring one military member and their family at each Saturday home game as our "Hero Among Us," with batting practice, a ceremonial pitch, suite for the game and more.
