Kernels Homestand Preview: June 9-14

The Party at the Park continues as the Kernels begin the final six game home stand of the first half. Here's what you can expect at the ballpark each of the six games:June 9-11 vs. Clinton
The Kernels open the final six game home stand of the first half with a three game series against the Clinton LumberKings, the Midwest League affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
Everyone loves FIREWORKS and the Kernels have a spectacular post-game show lined up for Saturday, June 9th when they take on Clinton at 6:35 pm. The Kernels welcome special guests from Clear Creek Schools, the Hiawatha Kids League, Robert Lucas Elementary and the City of Monticello to the game. Fireworks nights are VERY popular so call 896-7560 or visit www.kernels.com to order your tickets now. Gates open at 5:30 pm.
It's a fun-filled afternoon at Perfect Game Field on Sunday, June 10th. First, it's 104.5 KDAT Run the Bases Sunday where fans can get autographs from the Kernels before the game, play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo during the game and run the bases and play catch in the outfield after the game. The first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a free set of 2012 Kernels Baseball Cards, thanks to Perfect Game USA. It's our first Faith Day of the year - hear testimonials from Kernel players Carmine Giardina and Frazier Hall before the game, visit tables on the concourse with resources to build faith and win door prizes. It's also Bark in the Park where fans can bring their dogs to the game with a special 'Doggy' ticket and parade on the field prior to the game. Proceeds from the dog tickets benefit the Cedar Valley Humane Society and we thank Pawsitive Paws Academy and the Eastern Iowa Veterinary Specialty Center for their continued support of Bark in the Park. During the game, Papa Balloon and face painting by Funny Face Designs by Lori will be on the concourse. And, the world-famous Skyy Dogs will be on hand to entertain fans of all ages through the game. Gates open at 1:00 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Clinton is set for 2:05 pm.
Take a break from the office for some daytime baseball as the Kernels host Clinton at high noon. Fans can enjoy our Noon Game Concession Special, consisting of a sandwich, chips or popcorn and 20 oz. bottled soda or 16 oz. domestic draft beer for just $7. It's also Good Old Day at the Ballpark, presented by Home Instead Senior Care. And, Skyy Dogs USA and Rockin' Ray will be back to entertain fans during the game. Gates open at 10:30 am and first pitch between the Kernels and LumberKings is set for 12:05 pm.
June 12-14 vs. Burlington
The Kernels continue the final six game home stand of the first half with three games against the Burlington Bees, the Midwest League affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. The series kicks off on Tuesday, June 12th as we welcome special guests from the Saints Baseball program to the game. Gates open at 5:30 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Burlington is set for 6:35 pm.
Always wanted to know why the weather behaves like it does? Then be here on Wednesday, June 13th as the KCRG Weather Academy will be at the game, entertaining and educating fans throughout the game. First pitch between the Kernels and Bees is set for 6:35 pm with the gates opening at 5:30 pm.
Break out the leisure suits, disco balls and platform shoes as the Kernels go back to the 1970's on 70's Night. Come dressed in your favorite 70's attire, enjoy video blasts from the past on the Rockwell Collins GameLink and take in the music of the 70's. While you bask in the glow of the 70's, enjoy 12 oz. domestic draft beer for $1.50 and 20 oz. bottles of soda and water for just $2.00 on Z 102.9 Thirsty Thursday. Make sure to tip the Z DJ's at their beer stand as their tips will be donated to Eastern Iowa Special Olympics. And, the Midwest Dueling Pianos, presented by USA Entertainment Agency, will perform during and after the game. It's a fun night on Thursday, June 14th when the Kernels take on Burlington at 6:35 pm. Gates open at 5:30 pm.

104.5 KDAT Run the Bases Sunday: Every Sunday home game, fans can get autographs from the Kernels players on the concourse from 1:20 to 1:40 pm. Play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo for a chance to win a trip Anaheim in 2013 and see an Angels game. And after the game, kids (and adults) can run the bases and play catch on the field. Enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon on the concourse and face painting by Funny Face Designs by Lori. The Storybook Princesses from Glass Slipper Entertainment and juggler Doug Sayers will be here on three select Sundays.
Z 102.9 Thirsty Thursday: 12 oz. draft beer is $1.50 all game and get bottled soda and water for $2.
Kernels Mug Club, presented by Sip N Stir with media partner 98.1 KHAK: Buy a 16 oz. souvenir mug filled with your favorite domestic draft beer for just $5.00 and get refills at the Kernels concessions stands for just $2.50. You can also take the mug to Sip N Stir after the game for $2.50 refills and bring the mug back to every Kernels Friday home game for those $2.50 refills.
Noon Game Lunch Combo Special: Every Kernels noon home game, get a Lunch Combo Special, consisting of a sandwich (hamburger, cheeseburger, brat or hot dog), chips or popcorn and 16 oz. domestic draft beer or 20 oz. bottled soda or water for just $7!
Tickets for all Kernel home games are available on-line at www.kernels.com ; in person at the Kernels Ticket Office, or by calling 896-7560 during Ticket Office Hours. The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday, but opens at 11 am on Kernel Sunday Home games.
