Express Blank 'Birds, Split Series

MEMPHIS, TN - Round Rock earned a series split with Memphis Friday night with a 3-0 shutout victory at AutoZone Park.

The Express claimed a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a walk by Redbirds starter Nick Additon and a sacrifice fly by Dusty Brown. Round Rock added on one more in the ninth with a solo shot to right field by Joey Butler off reliever Adam Reifer. The 'Birds were shutout for the fourth time this year, despite collecting nine hits on the night.

Round Rock starter Greg Reynolds picked up the win tossing seven scoreless innings and allowing six hits with four walks and four strikeouts. Tanner Scheppers nailed down his ninth save for the Express shutting down the 'Birds through the last 1.2 innings. Additon was pinned with the loss after giving up two runs on only one hit and five walks while fanning four through seven innings.

Memphis hits the road tomorrow night, heading to Omaha and Albuquerque on their road trip. The Redbirds head back to Memphis Monday, June 11 with first pitched slated for 7:05 p.m. For ticket information call 901.721.6000 or visit memphisredbirds.com.
