Moises Sierra hit three home runs for the Las Vegas 51s in their 11-1 victory over the Tucson Padres Friday. Sierra hit a two-run shot in the fourth, a solo homer in the fifth and launched a two-run home run over the Padres left field bullpen in the ninth. Las Vegas had a powerful series, pounding 61 hits in the four game series, taking three of four games from the T-Pads.

The Padres lone run came on a solo home run by Beamer Weems in the bottom of the first inning. No Padre had more than one hit in the loss. Tucson starter Bear Bay allowed six runs, five earned, in four innings of work. Las Vegas starter Bill Murphy, who spent three years in Tucson as a Diamondbacks' farmhand, allowed just one run in six innings of work, his longest outing of the season. Las Vegas reliever Clint Everts pitched three shutout innings to close the game and earn his first save of the season.

The Padres have lost seven of their last nine games and drop to 19-36 on the season. The Padres are in fourth place, 17.5 games out of first in the Pacific Conference Southern Division.
