
Ducks Fall Short in Pitcher's Duel

(Camden, N.J., May 30, 2012) - The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Camden Riversharks 1-0 on Wednesday night in the third game of a four-game series at Campbell's Field.
Starters Gustavo Chacin and Kevin Reese both pitched shutout baseball, but neither factored into the decision. Chacin tossed seven innings, allowing only three hits and striking out five, while Reese pitched six innings, allowing four hits and one walk.
Both teams traded zeros until the bottom of the ninth when Drew Macias cracked the scoreboard for the Riversharks with a walk-off RBI sac fly, scoring Marquez Smith.
John Lujan (2-3) earned the win, tossing one scoreless inning of relief with one strikeout. Jason Monti (3-1) suffered the loss, yielding one run on one hit in one and one-third inning.
Kraig Binick led the Ducks with two hits, while Brandon Sing, Matt Esquivel and Ray Navarrete each added one apiece.
Long Island and Camden wrap up their series on Thursday night. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. at Campbell's Field.
