Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack is pleased to announce that they have received the Outstanding Supporter award from the Bluewater Branch of the Canadian Cancer Society.
The Outstanding Supporter award is a local award given to a business or person(s) who have supported the Canadian Cancer Society with volunteer work, sponsorship and community partnership and was presented to the Owen Sound Attack at a volunteer and supporter recognition dinner last Wednesday.
The Owen Sound Attack Hockey Club has supported the society for the past 4 years. The Attack has a mandate to be involved in our community, however; the club and our players have always gone above and beyond to get involved with the society.
"We are very fortunate to have a strong relationship with the Attack, making it easy to successfully bring awareness to our campaigns as well as fundraise for life saving cancer research.", stated Jennifer Wright of the Canadian Cancer Society. Wright went on to say that, "The support of the Attack has given us the ability share our information to a large audience. The players, staff and club have been excellent to work with, they show an understanding of what we are trying to achieve and support us by being just as compassionate as we are about what we do. They offer suggestions and we work together to make events a benefit for both our organizations in the end bringing success to what we partner in."
The Attack have supported many of our fundraisers including in Cops for Cancer, Breast Cancer Awareness month, Driven to Quit, Chuck A Puck, OHL Colorectal Cancer awareness month, our Daffodil Pin Program and our newest event Pink in the Rink which happened this February raising $35,767.
"We are very humbled and honored to have received this award.", said Attack Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Brent Fisher who was on hand to receive the award. "As an organization, we take great pride in our community involvement and to be associated with a group as dedicated and as passionate as those who serve with the Canadian Cancer Society is a privilege."
