Oklahoma City, Okla. - J.B. Shuck went 5-for-5 and the Oklahoma City RedHawks (15-8) used a six-run first inning to get out to an early lead and pace the way to an 11-5 win over the Round Rock Express (10-13) before 5,074 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark Saturday night.

For the second time in three games, the RedHawks tallied 11 runs and tied a season high with 17 hits. However, it was their highest hit total in a nine-inning game, surpassing the previous high of 15. Six players had at least two hits and Fernando Martinez, Scott Moore, and Jimmy Paredes each had three RBIs.

The RedHawks exploded for six runs right out of the chute, notching five hits in their first at-bat. During the rally, Shuck collected his first two hits and Paredes blasted a three-run homer. Round Rock starting pitcher Neil Ramirez tossed 55 pitches before finally retiring the side.

It was a surprising roundabout for Ramirez (2-2), who was the reigning PCL Pitcher of the Week. He exited the game after the inning ended.

Luis Hernandez continued his hot hitting, sending a two-run homer into the Round Rock bullpen in the third inning to pull the Express within 6-2. A sac fly in the fourth inning by Angel Sanchez extended the RedHawks lead back to 7-2.

The RedHawks began to put the game away the next inning, rallying for four runs after the bases were empty with two outs. Shuck singled home the inning's first run and was followed by a two-run single by Martinez and an RBI double by Moore.

In his first start of the disabled list, RedHawks pitcher Paul Clemens (2-1) threw 87 pitches over five solid innings. He allowed two runs and four hits with two walks and three strikeouts to earn his second win of the season.

The RedHawks will aim to win the series against Round Rock when they send Dallas Keuchel to the mound to face the Express Sunday afternoon at 2:05 p.m. Tickets are available through the RedHawks box office by calling (405) 218-1000 or by visiting okcredhawks.com. Live coverage of the game begins at 1:35 p.m. on 1340 AM The Game, 1340thegame.com, or on the free Clear Channel IHeartRadio mobile app.
