Reno Aces News Release

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah-Charles Brewer delivered a quality start and Josh Bell registered a four-hit game Saturday night at Spring Mobile Ballpark, as the Reno Aces clipped the Salt Lake Bees, 5-2, for their third-straight win.

Brewer (1-0) earned his first-career Triple-A victory on Saturday, scattering two runs on eight hits with no walks and six strikeouts. After his exit, the Reno bullpen was dominant, as Joe Paterson, Bryan Woodall and Jonathan Albaladejo combined to keep Salt Lake silent over the game's final three frames.

The middle of the Aces order backed-up Brewer's effort on the mound. Bell continued his torrid stretch since joining the Aces with a 4-for-4 night at the plate with run scored. Randy Ruiz stretched his hitting streak to 11 games with a single and a double, and Ryan Wheeler singled twice and drove in a run. Evan Frey put the Aces on the board first with a solo homer in the fourth, and Ryan Budde tacked on some insurance with a two-run double in the ninth.

Brad Mills (2-1) was pinned with the loss for Salt Lake, surrendering two runs on two hits over 1.2 innings of work in relief of starter David Pauley.

The Aces now go for the series sweep on Sunday night. LHP Zach Kroenke (1-1, 4.22 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while RHP Eric Hurley (2-1, 6.75 ERA) counters for the Bees. First pitch is set for 5:35 p.m. PT, and the action can be heard live on Fox Sports 630 AM.

The Aces return to Reno for an eight-game homestand beginning April 30. Tickets are on-sale now at RenoAces.com, by calling (775) 334-7000 or by visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
