UW Recruit Tendered by Gamblers

(Green Bay, WI) -) The Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Jake Linhart has informed head coach Derek Lalonde of his intent to play for the Gamblers next season. Linhart is scheduled to play for the University of Wisconsin in 2014.

Linhart and future Gamblers forward Nick Schmaltz were apart of the Chicago Mission squad that captured the Illinois State Championship this past season. The 5'10 160 pound Brookfield, Wisconsin native is touted as a special player on the blueline. In 29 games with the Mission, Linhart tallied 4 goals and 10 assists.

"We are excited about Jake," said head coach and general manager Derek Lalonde, "He is a good defenseman with great offensive instincts that will fit well into our system."

Linhart is the second player tendered by the Gamblers for next season joining North Dakota recruit Brendan Lemieux.

The Gamblers return home for the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals of the Clark Cup Playoffs Saturday April 21st, and Sunday April 22nd. Saturday night is Bud Night, Face-off is set for 7:05pm, and Sunday is Festival Foods Family Day at the Resch Center. Face-off is set for 3:05pm.
