
Attack Players Shine at Under 18's

The future of the Owen Sound Attack is looking bright as a pair of forwards is leading their countries at their respective World Under 18 Hockey Championships.
Gemel Smith is competing for team Canada in the Czech Republic and after two impressive pre-tournament wins over Russia and Germany which saw Smith gather two goals and two assists, Canada opened the tournament up today against Denmark. Smith wasted no time making his mark as he scored what would be the game winner at 13:52 of the 1st Period in a 6-1 win.
Artur Gavrus has recovered from his late season injury and has been cleared to play for the Belarusian entry in the Division I Group B. Gavrus and team Belarus opened up their tournament in Hungary with victories over Poland and Austria. Gavrus is tied for 2nd on team scoring with a goal and two assists and a +4 rating.
Canada is back in action Saturday at 12:00pm when they play Finland while Belarus plays host Hungary on Saturday at 2:00pm.
