San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Rampage goalie Dov Grumet-Morris made 38 saves in the team's 3-0 loss to the Rockford IceHogs at the AT&T Center on Friday. A crowd of 8,992 came out to support the Rampage on Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Night at the arena.
Rockford left wing Jeremy Morin scored the game's first goal on a shorthanded breakaway 11:23 into the first period. He intercepted a pass at the San Antonio blue line and beat Grumet-Morris blocker side to hand the IceHogs a 1-0 advantage. Morin's 14th marker of the season was unassisted.
Right wing Matt Fornataro put the IceHogs ahead 2-0 at the 13:00 mark of the third period. He found the puck in a goalmouth scramble and lifted it past Grumet-Morris for his eighth goal of the year. Left wing Brandon Svendsen and defenseman Brian Fahey recorded the assists on the Fornataro score.
Center Peter LeBlanc added an empty-net goal at 18:54 of the final stanza to cap the scoring at 3-0. Left wing Rostislav Olesz and defenseman Ben Youds were credited with the assists on LeBlanc's 22nd goal of the campaign.
San Antonio defenseman Sean Sullivan set the franchise record for most games played in a Rampage uniform (202), surpassing Brett MacLean's record of 201 contests with the team.
Rockford backstop Carter Hutton turned aside all 26 Rampage shots he faced for his third shutout and 18th win of the season. Grumet-Morris made 38 saves on 40 IceHogs attempts in the Rampage loss.
The Rampage (33-26-3-1) are back in action on Tuesday at 7 p.m. (CST) when they host the Grand Rapids Griffins at the AT&T Center.
