Blackhawks Assign Hutton to Rockford

Chicago, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned goaltender Carter Hutton to the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.

Hutton, 26, has compileda 17-9-3 record with two shutouts and a .915 save percentage in 32 regular-season tilts with the IceHogs this year and also made 14 appearances with the ECHL's Toledo Walleye. Since signing a one-year contract with the Blackhawks on Feb. 24, Hutton has posted a 7-1-1 record and .947 save percentage in nine AHL contests.

In addition, the IceHogs have released goalie Andrew Volkening from his PTO. Volkening, a Genoa, Ill. native, served as the backup goalie for Rockford on Friday night in Houston.

Next Home Game: Tuesday, March 20 vs. Hamilton. The Bulldogs are in town for the second and final matchup against the IceHogs in 2011-12. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Taco Bell Dollar Days continue Tuesday night with beers, hot dogs, soft drinks and companion tickets available for just one dollar a piece.
