Conner Recalled by Detroit

March 3, 2012 - American Hockey League (AHL) Grand Rapids Griffins

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Saturday recalled right wing Chris Conner from the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Conner saw a five-game point streak end on Saturday night as the Griffins extended their winning streak to five games with a 4-3 shootout victory over the Oklahoma City Barons. The 28-year-old forward ranks fourth on the Griffins with 36 points (11-25 - 36) in 41 games.

A native of Livonia, Mich., Conner has also skated in seven games with the Red Wings, recording one goal, two assists and a plus-two rating. In 146 career NHL games with Dallas, Pittsburgh and Detroit, he has tallied 43 points (17-26 - 43).

Grand Rapids will embark on a five-game road trip when they visit the Hamilton Bulldogs on Sunday at 5 p.m. The Griffins will then play four straight games in Texas, taking on the Stars at 8:30 p.m. EDT on Wednesday and the Houston Aeros next Saturday and Sunday at 8:35 p.m. and 6:05 p.m.
