Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack will be will have their eyes squarely on the Barrie Colts tomorrow evening at the Bayshore, but fans of the Attack will be scoreboard watching, hoping for a Sault Ste. Marie win over the Sarnia Sting.

The Attack trails the Sting by 2 points for 4th place in the Western Conference and as much as the Attack is aware of their position in the standings, they can only concentrate on the teams they have left to face. The boys from the Bay have 2 games left against the Colts, 2 games against the Storm and all single games against Kingston, Saginaw, Sarnia and Plymouth.

The Attack has put together an impressive 8-2-0-1 record in the month of February, including 4 straight wins in front of the home town crowd.

Wednesday, February 29th: Barrie @ Owen Sound - The Colts come into Owen Sound riding a similar stretch as the Attack. The Colts currently sit 4th in the Eastern Conference with 72 points, 1 point behind the Brampton Battalion. Head to head, the Attack are 3-1 against the Colts this season, with the Attack dropping a 5-3 decision in Barrie in December. The Colts have a staggering five players who are averaging a point per game or better in their lineup. Ivan Telegin, Zach Hall, Mark Sheifele, Colin Behenna and Tanner Pearson are all above the point per game mark, while Pearson sits 3rd in OHL scoring with 82 points.

Look Out For - Goaltender Matthias Niederberger has had a February to remember. The 19 year old German stopper has gathered a 7-2-0-1 record to go along with a sparkling 1.79GAA and a .944 save percentage, including 2 shut outs. Assuming he gets the call in net tomorrow night, the Attack will have to get pucks to the net early and often.

Last 10 - Barrie 7-2-0-1 (4th in Eastern Conference) Owen Sound 8-2 (5th in Western Conference)

Tickets for Wednesday night's game are still available at the Attack Box Office in the main lobby of the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre, online at www.attackhockey.com or via phone at (519) 371-7452.
