Jam's Bench Dominates on the Road to Beat the Red Claw

BAKERSFIELD, February 19, 2012 - Osiris Eldridge off the bench led the Bakersfield Jam (17-14) on the road with 30 points to beat the Maine Red Claws (12-21) with a final score of 118-109. The Jam scored a season-high 68 points off the bench and extended their winning streak to four games.

Both teams shot poor from the field in the first half as Bakersfield shot just 31.8% from the field (14-of-44) while the Maine Red Claws shot 38.5% from the field (20-of-52). After being tied at 43-43 with 2:37 left in the first half, Maine finished the second period on an 11-3 run to take a 54-46 lead at halftime. After intermission, The Bakersfield Jam came out stronger and sharper as they shot 56.5% from the field in the second half and had only one turnover the rest of the game, compared to eight turnovers in the first half. The Jam put up 40 points in the fourth quarter behind Eldridge's 13 point quarter performance and finished the night with a game-high 30 points on 11-of-18 shooting and 4-of-6 from long distance. Bakersfield led by as many as 14 points in final period.

Jeremy Wise scored 19 points, dished out 6 assists, and grabbed 7 rebounds while Renaldo Major had 17 points and 8 rebounds. Juan Pattillo contributed 16 points and had 8 rebounds off the bench. Adrian Thomas also came off the bench and scored 14 points connecting on 4-of-6 from three-point land.

Craig Brackins and Courtney Pigram led the Red Claws with 21 points each. Brackins also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds. Morris Almond added 18 points while Kenny Hayes had 15 points. Lawrence Hill finished the night with 10 points.

Bakersfield will next visit the Springfield Armor tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m. PT at the MassMutual Center.
