
Skyforce Acquires Covington

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Feb. 17, 2012) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired guard Nick Covington from the available player pool. To make room for him on the roster the team waived guard Darion "Jake" Anderson. He will be in uniform tonight as the Skyforce hosts the Tulsa 66ers at 7 p.m. CT. The active roster now stands at 10 players.
Covington averaged 8.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 13 games (four starts) with the Iowa Energy this season. He was originally selected by the Bakersfield Jam in the seventh round (103rd overall) of the 2011 NBA Development League Draft before being waived in training camp. The 6-2, 200-pound guard was named All-NAIA Division I Third Team as a senior in 2006-07 after averaging 13.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 34 games at Oklahoma City University.
