WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Dustin Tokarski made 24 saves for his fourth shutout of the season as the Norfolk Admirals defeated the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 4-0, on Wednesday night at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.

After a scoreless first period, an early power play for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton resulted in a 1-0 lead for the Admirals. A turnover at center ice was pounced on by Trevor Smith, who broke in alone for the wrist shot inside the near post just 57 seconds into the frame.

On the same Penguins man-advantage, Carter Ashton was hooked on a shorthanded breakaway to give Norfolk a penalty shot. Scott Munroe stopped Ashton's backhand attempt with the glove to keep it a one-goal Admirals edge.

Ondrej Palat allowed Norfolk to make it 2-0 with 2:09 until the second intermission, pulling a puck out of a pile in front of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton crease and roofing it to the top of the net.

The Admirals put the game further out of reach at 12:57 of the third period when Pierre-Cedric Labrie cut out of the far corner and swept a low shot through the pads of Munroe

Less than two minutes later, Tyler Johnson fired back his own rebound during a 5-on-3 power play to complete the scoring.

Tokarski helped preserved his shutout with 3:53 remaining, making a pad save on a Robert Bortuzzo penalty shot. Munroe took the loss for the Penguins, stooping 29-of-33.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins take on the Senators on Friday, February 17 at 7:05 PM in Binghamton. For more information, call the Penguins at (570) 208-PENS or visit www.wbspenguins.com.
