Mooseheads to Host Hockey School this Summer

The Halifax Mooseheads announced this morning that they will be hosting a summer Hockey School August 6-10, 2012 at the BMO Centre in Bedford. The school will be for Boys and Girls of all skill levels born 2000-2006.

The lead instructor will be Ron Davidson, from Hockey Night in Canada's Think Hockey and the developer of UltraSkills Hockey, recognized as the leading hockey teaching program in Canada. Ron recently toured Canada as the head coach for a Hockey Night in Canada program with coaching symposiums and player clinics in 8 cities. Davidson, a former director of Hockey Development programs for the Ottawa Senators and author of the popular book "Play Better Hockey", has been running hockey camps all over North America and Europe for the last 20 years.

"I'm really looking forward to a great week in Halifax", said Davidson. "The Mooseheads Hockey School will offer a great week of development for players of all ages and abilities. We'll be putting the players through a lot of unique high tempo drills that teach them how to improve their skills, read and react, create and anticipate to take their game to the next level. The program is fun, dynamic and very effective!!!"

The camp will be half days for boys and girls of all skill levels born from 2000 to 2006. Every day, players will have 2 on ice sessions along with a FAST Hockey off-ice session designed to boost their athletic ability and accelerate their on ice development. Goalies receive specialized instruction with an extra hour of ice, just for goalies. The participants will receive instruction from Davidson, as well as work with Mooseheads players and coaches that will be in attendance throughout the event. Participants in the camp will also receive a Mooseheads Hockey School jersey, a pair of tickets to the 2012-13 Home Opener, a picture with some of their favourite Mooseheads, as well as much more.
