Game Preview - Ice Flyers Vs. Huntsville Havoc

The Ice Flyers want to forget last night's disheartening 7-2 game with the Louisiana. This will be the 6th match between the Ice Flyers and Huntsville and hold a 3-2 upper hand in the series including a 4-3 shootout win last Saturday in Huntsville. In that game, the Flyers had goals in the second period from Matt Robertson, Jordan Chong, and Ryan Ramage in the second period. Ryan Carter ended up being the hero in the 7th round of the shootout.

The Ice Flyers now sit in 5th place in the SPHL after last night's loss to Louisiana. The Ice Flyers home record stands at 11-6-0 while the Havoc are 7-10-2 on the road.

Team Scope:

PENSACOLA - The Ice Flyers definitely want to end this weekend on a good note and team captain and player-assistant coach Dan Buccella guaranteed a win against the Havoc at last night's jersey action. Corey Milan's overall record is now 7-9-3 with a 3.52 goals against average and a .872 save percentage. His stats with the Ice Flyers are 3-3-1, a 2.80 GAA, and 0.898 SV%. Jeff Rose has a combined record of 4-7-1, 4.20 GAA, and a 0.857 SV%. Jordan Chong still leads the team in scoring with 39 points, Chris Wilson leads the team with 18 goals, and Chong still hold the team lead with 24 assists.

The Ice Flyers still have the 4th best power play in the league at 17.93%. The Flyers have scored 33 power play goals while only giving up 1 shorthanded goal. Pensacola's penalty kill fell to 6th at 81.25% after giving up 2 goals on 3 power plays last night. Overall the Flyers have given up 27 power play goals against while also managing to score 5 shorthanded goals.

The Ice Flyers' next game will be Thursday when the Louisiana IceGators return to the Hangar yet again.

HUNTSVILLE - The Havoc were at home last night but lost to the Mississippi RiverKings 5-2. Between the pipes the Havoc have Kevin Beech and Matt Hache. Beech has a record of 8-5-2 to go with a 3.56 GAA and a 0.877 SV%. Hache is 5-8-0 with a 4.04 GAA and a 0.869 SV%. The Havoc's leading scorer is Glenn Detulleo with 41 points. Ryan Kretzer leads the team with 17 goals and Detulleo leads the Havoc with 31 assists.

Huntsville's power play is the 7th in the SPHL at 16.11% with 29 power play goals. Their penalty kill is 3rd in the league at 84.54% with 30 power play goals against while adding on 2 shorthanded goals.

After tonight's game the Havoc have a Valentine's Day showdown in Southaven, Mississippi with the RiverKings.
