
D.C. United's Kurt Morsink Undergoes Successful Surgery

Washington, D.C. (February 8, 2012) - D.C. United announced today that midfielder Kurt Morsink has undergone successful surgery to repair Morton's Neuroma - an injury to the nerve between the toes, which causes thickening and pain. Morsink's neurectomy was performed by Dr. Lew Schon at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
The 27-year old midfielder, who is expected to miss 4-6 weeks of action, signed a new contract with D.C. United in December.
D.C. United's 17th MLS season begins on Saturday, March 10 when D.C. United takes on Sporting Kansas City. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
