Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

DUBUQUE, Iowa -The Des Moines Buccaneers will make their only trip of the regular season to the Key City tonight, facing off against the Fighting Saints at 7:05. While only two meetings between the two teams were scheduled this year, the Buccaneers and Fighting Saints met seven times during the 2010-11 regular season, with the Fighting Saints compiling a 4-2-1 record. This season, the Buccaneers have taken the only matchup of the two squads, shutting out Dubuque 4-0 in the state capital in late November.

The Buccaneers are winless over their last six games. In that span, they have secured a point in only the most recent game, losing 5-4 in a shootout to the Tri-City Storm on Saturday. The Buccaneers struggles have been more pronounced on the road, where they are 6-12-0 compared to 7-7-4 at Buccaneer Arena. Anthony Greco leads the Des Moines scoring attack, having tallied twelve goals and seventeen assists on the season for a total of twenty-nine points.

The Fighting Saints will play the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders two times this weekend, travelling to the Stable on Friday night and returning home for the second game of the series on Saturday night.

The Fighting Saints will help educate their fans on the rules of hockey with "Hockey 101" throughout tonight's game. The rules and history of the sport will be (re)introduced to fans throughout the evening through games and promotions.

Pregame coverage of tonight's game starts at 6:40 on Dubuque's Super Hits 106 and SuperHits106.com. Streaming video coverage of the game is available at FastHockey.com.
