Quad City's Brandon Marino Leads 'Oakley Three Stars' for January

GLENDALE, AZ (February 3, 2012) -Quad City Mallards forward Brandon Marino, Missouri Mavericks forward Brandon Coccimiglio and Evansville Icemen goaltender Bryan Gillis have been named the "˜Oakley Three Stars "˜ for the month of January/2012.
For winning the "˜Oakley Three Star Player of the Month' for January, Marino will receive a special gift from Oakley. Learn more about Oakley's products at www.oakley.com.
Players are awarded five points for first star recognition, three points for a second star nod and a single point for being named the third star of the game. Keep up with the season-long standings and quest to be the Oakley Three Star Player of the Year at www.centralhockeyleague.com.
First Star - Brandon Marino, F, Quad City Mallards
Marino finished the month with nine goals and eight assists during 13 games played and recorded the game winner two times. He has been named the first star three times this month, the second star once, and the third star twice (20 points). The Riverside, California native leads all players in the league in points (57), goals (27), and game winning goals (6).
Second Star - Brandon Coccimiglio, F, Missouri Mavericks
Coccimiglio finished the month with eight goals and ten assists in 12 games played and led his entire team in all the scoring categories. He has been named a first star three times this month, the second star once, and the third star once (19 points). The Burlington, Ontario native is currently on a four game point streak, having multi-point performances in three of those games, and recording eight points total. Recently, Coccimiglio was named the Sher-Wood/CHL Player of the Month for January.
Third Star - Bryan Gillis, G, Evansville IceMen
Gillis finished the month with a perfect record going 10-0-0, recording two shutouts, and helping his team get into first place in their conference. He has been named a first star two times this month and the second star three times (19 points). Gillis just recently was named the 50/50 Central CHL Rookie of the Month and the Sher-Wood/CHL Goaltender of the Month for January.
