
B-Sens Sign Defenseman Shaun Heshka

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that they have signed defensemen Shaun Heshka to a one-year American Hockey League contract.
Heshka, 26, spent the 2010-11 season with Salzburg EC of the Austrian Hockey League where he tallied 24 points (six goals, 18 assists) and added 32 penalty minutes in 50 games.
The 6-1, 208-pound defenseman has appeared in 284 career AHL games with Manitoba and San Antonio, recording 95 points (21 goals, 74 assists) and 132 penalty minutes.
Heshka, now in his sixth professional season, appeared in eight National Hockey League games with the Phoenix Coyotes during the 2009-10 season, recording a pair of assists.
Prior to turning pro the native of Melville, Sask. played three seasons (2003-06) in the Western Hockey League skating for the Everett Silvertips. In 204 career WHL games, Heshka posted 107 points (25 goals, 82 assists).
The B-Sens are in action again tonight as they host the Toronto Marlies at 7:05 p.m. All fans in attendance receive a free 2011-12 B-Sens magnet schedule courtesy of Wendy's.
