'Wolves Drop Finale to Senators

The SeaWolves dropped the series finale against the Harrisburg Senators on Sunday afternoon by a score of 5-1.

The Senators struck first in the top of the fifth inning against Erie starter Brooks Brown. With two outs, Chris McConnell doubled and scored on an Erik Komatsu base knock for a 1-0 lead. Komatsu came home on a Derrick Norris base knock for a 2-0 Harrisburg edge.

Harrisburg added to its lead in the top of the sixth. Bryce Harper doubled with one out and Tim Pahuta blasted a two-out home run, his ninth, for a 4-0 lead.

In the seventh, Komatsu blasted a one-out solo home run, his first, for a 5-0 Senators lead.

The SeaWolves got on the board in the bottom of the seventh against Harrisburg starter Oliver Perez. Audy Ciriaco steeped in with two outs and extended his hitting streak to 10 straight games with a solo home run to straight away center. His fifth blast of the season made it a 5-1 game.

Harrisburg added an insurance run in the top of the ninth against reliever Luis Marte. Stephen King led off with a double, moved to third on a groundout and scored on a Komatsu sacrifice fly.

Brown (2-7) took the loss allowing four runs on seven hits with no walks and a season-high nine strikeouts.

The SeaWolves have the day off on Monday and will play in New Hampshire on Tuesday night...7:05 First Pitch. Lefty Casey Crosby (6-5, 4.08 ERA) takes the mound for Erie against RHP Joel Carreno (7-8, 3.48 ERA).
