
Dream to Honor U.S. Women's National Team Members Carli Lloyd and Heather Mitts

ATLANTA, August 1, 2011 - The Atlanta Dream will honor Atlanta Beat and United States Women's National Team soccer players Carli Lloyd and Heather Mitts on August 2 as part of the team's "Inspiring Women" presented by SunTrust.
Lloyd, a 5-8 midfielder, scored for the United States in the team's 3-0 win over Colombia and finished one of the penalty kicks against Brazil in the 2011 World Cup. In the 2008 Olympics, Lloyd scored the game winner in extra time against Brazil to win the gold medal for the U.S. She has scored two goals for the Beat this season.
Mitts, a 5-5 defender, is a two-time Olympic gold medalist with the US Women's National Team. Most recently, she started all six games at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Mitts missed the 2007 World Cup with an ACL injury but made the team again in 2011. She is married to NFL quarterback A.J. Feeley.

Throughout the 2011 season, the Atlanta Dream will recognize an individual at each home game who inspires others through her commitment and dedication to work, family and community.
