
Rascals Pull Away from Normal

River City Rascals News Release
Normal, Ill. - Jason Patton hit a two-out solo homerun to break a 5-5 tie in the seventh and the Rascals scored three in the ninth to pull away from Normal for a 9-5 win.
The CornBelters (27-25) took a 1-0 lead on a Stephen Alexander homerun in the second but Bobby Burk answered with his own to start the third as River City (36-15) scored four in the inning to take a 4-1 lead.
The Rascals added a run in the fifth before Normal scored four to tie it in the bottom of the frame.
Patton's homerun in the eigth would stand up as Brandon Cunniff and Kirkland Rivers shut out Normal until Derrick Miramontes entered in the eigth.
River City score three insurance runs in the ninth on a Doug Sanders single and a two-out two-run Joash Brodin single.
Miramontes would stay in to pitch the ninth for his ninth save.
