CLINTON, IA - In temperatures reaching as high as 97 degrees with a 111-degree heat index, the Lansing Lugnuts (15-8; 53-37) rode home runs from Jake Marisnick and Michael Crouse to a 7-2 win over the Clinton LumberKings (12-11; 36-57) on Sunday afternoon at Alliant Energy Field.

It was the Lugnuts' fifth consecutive road win, increasing the team's record on its season-high nine-game road trip to 7-1.

Marisnick swatted his 10th home run of the season with a teammate aboard to cap off a four-run third inning against Clinton starter Anthony Fernandez (Loss, 3-3), giving Lansing an early 4-0 lead.

Crouse's home run, also his 10th, closed out the scoring in the ninth.

In between, Lansing starter Casey Lawrence (Win, 7-8) and relievers Dustin Antolin and Brandon Berl held the LumberKings at bay. Lawrence twirled five innings, allowing only two runs (one earned) on six hits while striking out three. Antolin and Berl followed with identical pairs of scoreless one-hit innings.

Garis Pena and Oliver Dominguez added three-hit games for the Lugnuts, who improved to a season-high 16 games above .500 overall.

The Lugs go for the three-game sweep in a Monday 11 a.m. ET affair, sending right-hander Marcus Walden (4-2, 3.12) against LumberKings touted right-hander Taijuan Walker (4-4, 2.66).

Lansing will be back in action at Cooley Law School Stadium on Wednesday, July 20, at 12:05 p.m., taking on the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on a Summer Fun Day. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.lansinglugnuts.com, at the stadium box office, and by calling 517-485-4500.
