Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Lancaster, CA - David Flores' single in the bottom of the ninth inning sent the Lancaster JetHawks to a 9-8 victory over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on Sunday evening at The Hangar, giving the JetHawks three of four in the series and sending the Quakes to just a 2-5 road trip.

After Anthony Jackson's solo homer in the top of the ninth inning tied the game at 8-8, the JetHawks caught a break in the bottom of the ninth.

Reliever Jordan Roberts (4-3) walked Jonathan Meyer with one out, putting the winning run on base. With two outs, the left-handed Roberts appeared to pick off Meyer with a move to first base. The move was ruled a balk though, allowing the inning to continue. David Flores didn't allow it to continue much longer though, as he lined a Roberts' pitch to right field, producing Meyer with the winning run, as right fielder Ramon Jean's throw to the plate was late, giving Lancaster the walk-off win.

The Quakes and JetHawks went back-and-forth all day long, with Rancho rallying from deficits of 6-2 and 8-6.

Trailing 6-2 in the fifth, Jake Lemmerman popped a two-run homer, making it 6-4. Rod Barajas followed with his first homer in his four-game rehab assignment, cutting the Lancaster lead to a run at 6-5.

J.T. Wise opened the sixth inning with a solo shot to right field, his 12th of the year to even the game at 6-6.

Javier Solano, who had done a great job to keep the JetHawks off the board in his first two innings, gave up a pair of runs in the sixth. Austin Wates' RBI triple drove home a run to make it 7-6, with Adam Bailey following with an RBI single, plating Wates for an 8-6 JetHawks' lead.

The Quakes clawed back in the seventh, as Angelo Songco's sac fly produced Lemmerman from third, making it a one-run game again at 8-7.

Jackson's third homer of the series to lead off the ninth tied the game at 8-8 against eventual winning pitcher Kirk Clark (3-3).

Rancho (10-8, 48-40) will take a day off on Monday, then resume action on Tuesday, as they host the Lake Elsinore Storm at The Epicenter for a three-game set.

Arismendy Ozoria (3-5) will take on Storm lefty Mike Watt (4-7) on Tuesday in the series-opener, with game time slated for 7:05pm. Tuesday night is another Healthy RC Recycle Tuesday, as fans can receive a FREE Club Seat Ticket by bringing 10 CRV-eligible bottles and cans to the ticket office.
