(LANCASTER, CA) - Jake Lemmerman went 3-for-5 and smacked a two-run home run off Jose Cisnero as Rancho Cucamonga defeated Lancaster 12-3 at Clear Channel Stadium Saturday night. Adam Bailey went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and hit his first home run as a JetHawk.
Rancho Cucamonga seized control of the game from the outset with five runs off JetHawks starter Jose Cisnero in the opening frame. The Quakes scored all of their runs in the inning with two outs as Angelo Songco hit an RBI single, Lemmerman homered and Preston Mattingly delivered a two-run single. Cisnero exited the contest after just 2/3 of an inning pitched.
The JetHawks got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second when David Flores hit an inside-the-park home run off Quakes starter Matt Magill. Flores' home run made it a 5-1 ballgame.
After the Quakes added two more runs in the fourth, Bailey smacked a solo home run that sailed over the right field wall in the bottom of the frame, which brought the JetHawks within five.
But the Quakes broke the game open with five runs off JetHawks reliever Yordany Ramirez in the top of the fifth. Austin Gallagher belted a three-run homer over the center field wall and Anthony Jackson added an RBI triple in the frame.
Magill (8-2) earned the win for the Quakes while Cisnero (4-8) was charged with the loss.
Lancaster fell to 6-11 in the second half and 34-53 overall. Rancho Cucamonga improved to 9-8 in the second half and 47-40 overall.
