
Frontier League All-Star Additions Announced

Sauget, IL - All-Star managers Steve Brook and Mike Kashirsky have announced their additional selections for the upcoming game. Outfielder Joe Agreste, first baseman Joash Brodin, and right-handed pitcher Brandon Cunniff have been added to the West team, while outfielder Brandon Anderson, right-handed pitcher Greg Johnson, and right-handed pitcher Kelyn Schellenberg are part of the East roster.
Joe Agreste is tied for 10th in the Frontier League with a .328 batting average and has five home runs and 33 RBI for the Gateway Grizzlies. Joash Brodin will make his second consecutive All-Star appearance after appearing on behalf of the Oakland County Cruisers in 2010. Brodin has seven home runs and 30 RBI along with a .323 batting average. Brandon Cunniff has a 4-0 record and three saves along with a 1.17 ERA in 20 relief appearances for the Rascals.
Brandon Anderson is second in the Frontier League with 23 stolen bases to go along with a .281 batting average and 12 RBI. Anderson is in his second season in Windy City after spending 2007-09 with the Kalamazoo Kings. Greg Johnson and Kelyn Schellenberg are tied for third with 22 relief appearances this season. Johnson has a 3-0 record with one save and a 2.12 ERA for the ThunderBolts while Lake Erie's Schellenberg has allowed only one walk and two earned runs in 28.1 innings of work.
The 2011 Frontier League All-Star Game, presented by Mercy, will take place at All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon, Ohio, home of the Lake Erie Crushers. All-Star events open with a Fan Fest and Home Run Derby on Tuesday, July 12 followed by the game at 7:05 pm on Wednesday, July 13.
