Kevin Millar, Satch Sanders and Bill Rodgers to Attend Legends Night June 26

LOWELL, MASS. - The Lowell Spinners, Class-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, will welcome a trio of Boston sports legends to celebrate some of their greatest professional moments when the team hosts "New England Sports Legends and Moments Night" featuring Kevin Millar, Bill Rodgers and Tom "Satch" Sanders, Sunday, June 26 at LeLacheur Park.

The athletes will be available to Spinners fans for autographs, photos and more, all free of charge thanks to Electrical Wholesalers.

Millar, the Red Sox first baseman who emblazoned the "Cowboy Up" attitude and brought a light-heartedness to the Red Sox clubhouse in 2004, will be feted for his memorable walk in Game 4 of the 2004 American League Championship Series. It was Millar who walked to start the ninth inning before being pinch-run for by David Roberts. The rest, was history.

"As a Red Sox affiliate, we couldn't be more thrilled to welcome Kevin to Lowell," said Spinners President Tim Bawmann. "His walk against Rivera in the ninth inning of Game 4 set the stage for the greatest comeback in baseball history and is a moment Boston sports fans will never forget."

Sanders, the Boston Celtics legend who was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2011, was memorably on the court for the Green when "Havlicek stole the ball" to clinch the Eastern Conference title for the Celtics. An eight-time NBA Champion, Sanders played his entire 14 season career with the Celtics.

Rodgers, a four-time Boston Marathon winner and former Olympian, was a true local legend, Known as "Boston Billy," Rodgers dominated the marathon circuit in the late 1970s and is known as one of the best American born runners in the sport's history.

"This is a chance for our fans to meet three living legends," said Bawmann. "As we celebrate the great moments these men enjoyed during their careers, we hope to create a great moment in the life of our fans as they get a chance to come face-to-face with these great athletes."
