Iowa beats Tucson

May 20, 2011 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Tucson Padres News Release

The Tucson Padres led by six runs Friday but a late comeback by Iowa gave the Cubs an 11-10 walk-off win. Leading by two in the ninth, Tucson reliever Luis Perdomo gave up a leadoff double to Tyler Colvin. After two groundouts, Bobby Scales singled to score Colvin and get the Cubs within one run. Scott Moore then hit a game-tying triple, which video replays later showed should have been called a home run. Moore scored one batter later on Steve Clevenger's game-winning single to shallow left field.

Logan Forsythe batted first in the Padres order for the second time in a row since being optioned from San Diego and went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk. Anthony Rizzo went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and five RBIs in the loss. Luis Durango and Aaron Cunningham also had two hits for Tucson.

The best outing by a Padres pitcher Friday came from Samuel Deduno, who faced four batters and struck out all four. The T-Pads have now lost three consecutive games, and have had multiple-run leads in all three.
