NEW YORK (Thursday, March 10, 2011) - The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum is sold out for the March 26 match (2 p.m. PT) between the national teams of Mexico and Paraguay, presented by Wrigley's Extraé gum, organizers announced today. More than 48,000 fans are expected at the stadium, in the second stop of El Tri's 2011 U.S. Tour.
Fans attending the game in Oakland are urged to arrive at the stadium early to avoid traffic and long waits, and enjoy F=FAtbol Fiesta, an interactive fan zone of more 120,000 sq. ft. featuring live entertainment, autograph sessions by legendary Mexican players, sponsor booths and giveaways. F=FAtbol Fiesta will open at 10 a.m. local time at Lot A.
Mexico kicked-off its 2011 U.S. Tour in front of more than 50,000 fans on Feb. 9 with a 2-0 win against Bosnia-Herzegovina at Atlanta's Georgia Dome. The third stop for El Tri will be on March 29 in San Diego where Mexico will face Venezuela at Qualcomm Stadium. Tickets for the San Diego match are still available and can be purchased at www.Ticketmaster.com, calling 1-800-745-3000 or at all usual Ticketmaster locations.
The 2011 Mexican National Team U.S. Tour sponsors are adidas, Allstate, AT&T, Bud Light, Cacique, Coca-Cola, Castrol, Degree Men, Makita, NAPA Auto Parts, The Home Depot and Wrigley's Extraé gum. Together, they will host F=FAtbol Fiesta, a huge celebration taking place before every game, including an interactive zone of 120,000 square feet with live music, games, celebrities and promotional memorabilia.
