
Chicago Fire Unveil Regional Broadcast Schedule

CHICAGO, IL (March 10, 2011) - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced today that Comcast SportsNet (CSN) and WPWR My50 Chicago will return as the official broadcast partners of the Chicago Fire for the 2011 season. CSN and My50 will broadcast 24 Fire matches over the course of the MLS season with each of the club's 34 matches being broadcast across multiple local and national programming platforms. CSN begins its coverage of the Fire for the Men in Red's First Kick match against MLS Cup runners-up FC Dallas at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas on Saturday, March 19 at 7:30 PM CT (CSN/TeleFutura). The duo that will call Fire matches on CSN and My50 will be announced at a later date.
"Comcast SportsNet and WPWR My50 Chicago have been tremendous broadcast partners for the Fire and we are happy to return to their airwaves for another season," said Fire President Julian Posada. "CSN and My50 provide extensive coverage to the Fire's MLS schedule and are an integral part in the growth and promotion of our club throughout the Chicagoland area."
CSN, whose local television base reaches 4.7 million homes, will televise a minimum of 10 Fire matches on the regional sports network. My50, an affiliate of WFLD FOX Chicago, will broadcast a minimum of eight matches. The broadcast for the remaining six Fire matches are to be announced at a later date.
"We're very pleased to bring back Chicago Fire soccer action to our viewers this season," said Greg Bowman, Vice President of Programming for Comcast SportsNet Chicago. "With every game being presented in HD, along with numerous games being followed by a post-game show, Fire fans will have plenty to look forward to this MLS season starting March 19th."
In addition, Comcast SportsNet's website, CSNChicago.com, will also have the Fire covered 24/7 this season featuring game video/highlights in the "Fire" section on the site. Plus, fans can look forward to additional blogs/feature articles throughout the 2011 MLS season and a Chicago-Fire.com RSS feed.
The Fire will first appear on My50 when the club hosts Opening Day at TOYOTA PARK against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, March 26 at 3:00 PM CT (My50). Chicago Fire Season Tickets and single game tickets are available by calling 1-888-MLS-FIRE (657-3473), via Ticketmaster or by heading to the club's official website at Chicago-Fire.com .
The Men in Red will appear on national television 12 times throughout the season with national broadcast partners ESPN/ESPN Deportes (one game), ESPN2/ESPN Deportes (three games), Fox Soccer (one game) TeleFutura (four games) and Galavision (three games).
