Storm Acquire Forward Sandler from Des Moines

Head Coach and General Manger Drew Schoneck announced Thursday morning that the Tri-City Storm have acquired forward Luke Sandler from the Des Moines Bucccaneers in exchange for defenseman Chris Joyaux.
Sandler, 17, started playing in the USHL last season with the Fargo Force and was traded to Des Moines midway through the season. Last season, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound left-winger had two goals and 20 penalty minutes in 24 games. This season, he only played in five games for the Buccaneers and registered one assist.
Joyaux, 18, who is committed to Ohio State University, leaves the Storm after playing seven games this season and posting two assists. He played in two games last season for Tri-City and tallied one assist.
The native from Chicago, Ill., Sandler, will wear number â19' for the Storm and joins the team this week.
The Storm play Friday night against the Dubuque Fighting Saints and Saturday afternoon against the Fargo Force to closeout a six-game home stand at the Viaero Event Center.
