The Elmira Jackals announced Wednesday that they have added forwards Justin Donati and Yannick Tifu to their 2010 training camp roster.
With Elmira in 2009-2010, Donati was named the ECHL Rookie of the Year, leading all first-year players with 104 points, 42 goals, and 62 assists. Donati also earned All-ECHL 2nd Team honors along with being named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team and being selected to the American Conference All-Star Team during the 2009-2010 season. The Oakville, Ontario native was also named the ECHL's Rookie of the Month for October and December.
Donati's 42 goals led the Jackals while his 104 points were second best on the team and in the ECHL.
Tifu scored 56 points with the Jackals in 2009-2010, fourth best on the team, after being acquired in a trade with Victoria in late October. His 41 assists were also the fourth most on the Jackals.
The Brossard, Quebec native has played in 342 regular season games as a pro, the most of any current Jackal. In 2006-2007, Tifu's 89 points were third-best in the ECHL as he helped lead the Dayton Bombers to the Kelly Cup Finals.
Elmira opens its preseason on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. against the Reading Royals at First Arena.
