'Dads Fall in Series Finale in Asheville

HICKORY, NC - The Hickory Crawdads fell in the series finale against the Asheville Tourists, 13-0, before 3,925 at Historic McCormick Field on Thursday.

After RHP Braden Tullis (6-2) dealt the first three scoreless frames for the Crawdads (72-63, 32-33), the Tourists (67-68, 38-28) struck for three tallies, two on a two-run double 2B Angelys Nina, in the fourth. Asheville then tacked on six more in the sixth capitalizing on a pair of errors in the frame, before putting the finishing touches on the game with four more in the seventh, accounting for the 13-0 final.

Tullis was tagged with the loss, dealing a total of 5.1 innings before giving way to RHP Sam Brown for one frame and RHP Ovispo De Los Santos for the final 1.2 innings. The trio of RHP Chad Bettis (six innings), RHP Coty Woods (two innings) and LHP Paul Bargas (one frame) combined to keep the 'Dads off the board, with Bettis getting the win.
