Hagerty Named MWL All-Star

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - TinCaps C Jason Hagerty was named a Midwest League full-season All- Star on Tuesday. He was the only TinCaps player on the All-Star list.

Hagerty, 22, is batting .313 with 14 home runs and 71 RBIs. He is currently among the league leaders in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, extra-base hits and walks. Since the All-Star break, he is batting .383 and has been on base nearly half of his plate appearances (.496 on-base percentage). Behind the plate, he has thrown out 29 percent of runners trying to steal.

Hagerty was a three-year standout at the University of Miami (Fla.). He was selected by the Padres in the fifth round of last year's draft.

The TinCaps open a three-game series Wednesday against the Great Lakes Loons (Class-A Los Angeles Dodgers) at 7:05 p.m. Fort Wayne LHP Jose De Paula (8-3) draws the start against Great Lakes RHP Josh Wall (7-6).
