Bandits Drop Series Finale with Cougars 3-1

GENEVA, Ill. - The Quad Cities River Bandits scored just one run in their final game of four with the Kane County Cougars. The Bandits took an early one run lead in the second but the Cougars return fired with a three run bottom half which proved to be the final tally of 3-1.

The River Bandits only run came off of a solo home run hit by Rainel Rosario, his fifth.

Eric Fornataro (7-14) was charged with his 14th loss of the season after he surrendered three runs on six hits through 5.2 innings of work for Quad Cities. Dan Calhoun shut the door for the Bandits striking out two batters in 2.1 innings of work.

Chris Mederos (6-5) picked up his sixth win by throwing seven strong. He surrendered one run on four hits and fanned seven. Jose Guzman (17) picked up his 17th save by throwing just one-third of an inning for Kane County.

The Bandits head to Clinton for four games in three days. They will make-up the Friday, August 20th rainout between the two teams. The River Bandits and LumberKings start their four-game set on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Alliant Enegery Field.
