
PawSox Prove There's Life After Lowell

Game one of the post- Mike Lowell era went extremely well on Thursday night in Toledo. Felix Doubront, Fernando Cabrera, Tommy Hottovy and Rich Hill combined to shut out the Mud Hens, 7-0. Doubront worked 5.1 innings, scattering 6 hits, walking 3 and fanning 5. Doubront was credited with the win and improves to 4-3, with a 3.34 ERA.
The PawSox scored in the first inning on a double by Ryan Shealy. In the fifth, Tug Hulett and Ryan Kalish each had rbi singles, to make it 3-0. In the eighth, Lars Anderson had a two run double into the rightfield corner and Josh Reddick followed with a 2 run single to cap the scoring.
The PawSox notched their ninth shutout victory of the year. Pawtucket has taken two of the first three games in the series with the finale scheduled for Friday in Ohio. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Kris Johnson (4-9, 5.36) faces Alfredo Figaro (9-6, 3.91).
