
Bulls Win Eighth in a Row

Durham Bulls News Release
Durham, NC - J.J. Furmaniak's double to center field scored Desmond Jennings with the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th inning as the Bulls held on for their eighth straight win, 2-1 over the Iron Pigs on Thursday afternoon.
Fernando Perez led off the inning with a single but was forced out at second on Jennings' groundball to third. Furmaniak followed with his RBI-double to give the Bulls the lead.
Durham got on the board first in the sixth inning. Angel Chavez led off the inning with a single followed by a bunt single from Jose Lobaton. Perez got on with a bunt single to load the bases, then Jennings hit into a forceout scoring Chavez.
Lehigh Valley answered in the bottom of the ninth when John Mayberry homered to left field off of Bulls reliever R.J. Swindle.
LHP Darin Downs (3-1) picked up the win pitching two perfect innings of relief with two strikeouts. RHP Brian Gordon (1-2) took the loss allowing one run on three hits in three innings of work.
