Stamps Sign Three Defensive Linemen

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce the signing of import defensive linemen Tim Hunt, Eugene Kinlaw and George Clinkscale. As per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

"We have a lot of good veteran players on the defensive line, but we're confident this trio can come to camp and push for jobs," said Hufnagel.

Hunt played for Swarco Raiders Tirol and helped the Austrian club win the 2009 Eurobowl. He played with the Peoria Pirates of af2 in 2008. Prior to playing professionally, Hunt attended the University of North Alabama. As a senior, he tallied 39 tackles including 9.5 for loss, 6.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. He was first-team all-Gulf South Conference in 2007 and second-team in 2005.

Kinlaw attended Hutchinson Community College in Kansas in 2007 and 2008. He was named the National Junior College Athletic Association's defensive player of the year as well as All-American and all-conference for the 2008 season after posting 65 tackles, including 45 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, four forced fumbles, two blocked kicks and a safety. He transferred to Troy in 2009 and started all 13 games, tallying 32 tackles, including 8.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two fumble recoveries and a safety.

Clinkscale attended the University of Tulsa. He played in 41 games and showcased versatility by starting seven games as a defensive end and 14 as a linebacker. As a senior in 2009, he made 34 tackles for the Golden Hurricane, recorded two sacks, recovered two fumbles and forced one fumble. For his career, he registered 92 tackles with 12 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries.
