Bears to face Manchester Monarchs in 2010 Eastern Conference Finals

HERSHEY - The HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with the American Hockey League that the club will face the Manchester Monarchs in the 2010 Eastern Conference Finals. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.

The BEARS advanced to the third round of the Calder Cup playoffs on April 29, completing a four-game sweep of the Albany River Rats at Times Union Center. Manchester earned the right to advance Friday with a 2-1 overtime win over the Worcester Sharks in Game 6 of the Atlantic Division Finals. The series will feature a 2-3-2 format, with the series to begin with two home games at Giant Center starting Wednesday, May 12.

The schedule for the 2010 Eastern Conference Finals is as follows:

Game 1: Wednesday, May 12 at HERSHEY 7:00 p.m. GIANT Center

Game 2: Saturday, May 15 at HERSHEY 7:00 p.m. GIANT Center

Game 3: Monday, May 17 at Manchester 7:00 p.m. Verizon Wireless Arena

Game 4: Tuesday, May 18 at Manchester 7:00 p.m. Verizon Wireless Arena

*Game 5: Thursday, May 20 at Manchester 7:00 p.m. Verizon Wireless Arena

*Game 6: Saturday, May 22 at HERSHEY 7:00 p.m. GIANT Center

*Game 7: Sunday, May 23 at HERSHEY 5:00 p.m. GIANT Center

Tickets for Game 1 and Game 2 at GIANT Center are on sale now at the GIANT Center box office or by phone at (717) 534-3911. The appearance marks the fourth time in the last five years that the BEARS have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals.
